Highline Medical Center Foundation
Congratulations to our Highline Medical Center Foundation 2017 Paul W. Tucker Employee Scholarship Award Program recipients!
Employee training and education is an important part of providing the best level of care for our patients. Thanks to Paul W. Tucker's endowment for education, we can support this vital aspect of the patient experience.
During the past three years, Foundation donors have given generously to a variety of Highline programs. Recently, the Foundation published a Gratitude Report that highlights many of the ways our donors have joined us in ensuring everyone has access to exceptional health care close to home.
You make a world of difference, right here close to home
When you support Highline Medical Center Foundation, you give our neighbors the gift of good health. Here are three ways your donations make a real difference:
The Medical Innovation Fund - Medical technology advances every day, providing better ways to diagnose conditions and creating new approaches to saving lives. Your gift to the Foundation helps keep our Medical Center on the leading edge of innovation. From the most up-to-date care for heart disease, cancer and a host of other diseases and conditions, to the most innovative ways to care safely and effectively for patients, your support for the Medical Innovation Fund provides the much-needed resources that take our community-centered medical center from good to great.
The Nursing Advancement and Engagement Fund - Nurses are the cornerstone of great health care. At Highline, we want to see our nurses expand their expertise. Your support will help nurses pursue certifications in specialty areas such as emergency medicine or cancer care and to attend high-level educational courses and conferences. Today’s nurses are deeply interested in actively improving their profession, and the Fund will provide in-demand opportunities for them to grow while helping attract and retain the most skilled and committed nurses in the region.
The Emerging and Critical Needs Fund - Cradles and scales for newborns. A program to support the neediest and sickest members of our community. Clothes for assault victims in the emergency room. Music therapy for cancer patients. An innovative water-birth suite for the Family Birth Center. The Emerging and Special Needs Fund provides for these kinds of both lower-cost, immediate-needs items to enhance patient comfort and care as well as for major aspirational projects to improve our hospital and save lives.
When you give from the heart, you know you’ve changed - even saved - a life. But a gift to the Foundation is also a smart investment in our community. Quality of life, property values and community spirit thrive when a region boasts a comprehensive medical center offering innovative technology, caring medical staff, and the most modern and effective treatments, facilities and services. As a privately supported 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization, Highline Medical Center Foundation relies on you to provide all this and more to our community. Your tax-deductible gifts are essential in the lives of our neighbors.
Join us in building a healthy community
To someone undergoing a life-saving cardiac procedure, a man seeking the least invasive and most successful procedure to manage prostate cancer, or an unemployed single mother with a seriously ill child – for these and thousands of others who come to Highline for care, your support for the Foundation makes an impact like no other.
Community support through Highline Medical Center Foundation’s Annual Gala event provides a key source of funding for important Highline Medical Center needs, including fundraising for 3D Tomography equipment, and raising funds for the Special Needs program at Highline, which includes medical care for vulnerable populations, funding for prescriptions for low income patients, and financial assistance to patients.
The Foundation is currently raising funds for Highline Health Connections: Care Navigation for Vulnerable Populations. This program will provide comprehensive care to targeted patients within our community, and provide an extra level of care for the most vulnerable of our patients.
In addition, we provide financial counseling, gas and food cards for low income cancer patients, and specialized wheelchairs for in-patient intensive care. We also support our employees through staff educational scholarships and an Employee Assistance Fund.
