Our program is accredited by the Commission on Cancer (CoC), a program of the American College of Surgeons (ACoS). As an accredited institution we measure ourselves against the latest treatment standards in order to continuously improve survival and quality of life for cancer patients. Quality metrics for cancers of the colon and rectum exceed national benchmarks determined by the Commission on Cancer (CoC) and the National Quality Forum (NQF).

Recent data from the National Cancer Database shows that our Colorectal Cancer Program outperforms the national median in adhering to CoC best-practice standards, achieving 100% performance in several areas.
Screening and diagnosis
Screening can prevent about 90 percent of colorectal cancer cases, according to the American Cancer Society. Even if colorectal cancer has already developed, it’s highly treatable when caught in its early stages.
Colorectal cancer treatment options
Our board certified and fellowship trained colorectal cancer surgeons, take a multidisciplinary team approach to treating colon and rectal cancers. Experts from several specialties, including surgeons, medical oncologists, radiation oncologists, pathologists, and radiologist specialists work together to design a personalized treatment plan specifically for your individual case, which may include one or more of the following:
- Medical Oncology, including Chemotherapy
- Targeted therapies, such as antibodies that target specific molecules within cancer cells
- Radiation therapy
