From prevention to long-term treatment, our team of specialists provides award-winning and compassionate cancer care.
At CHI Franciscan Cancer Care, our experienced gynecologic oncologists use the latest methods for detecting, diagnosing and treating all types of gynecologic cancer.
Screening and diagnosis
Our cancer specialists are board certified and fellowship trained in gynecologic oncology. Their expertise focuses on diagnosing and treating all five major types of gynecologic cancer: cervical, ovarian, uterine, vaginal and vulvar.
Our specialists diagnose gynecologic cancers based on your medical history, a physical exam and certain symptoms, including (but not limited to):
- Abnormal vaginal bleeding or discharge
- Pelvic pain or pressure
- Rash, sores or warts on vulva skin
Innovative gynecologic cancer treatments
Our cancer specialists take a multidisciplinary team approach to treating gynecologic cancers. Experts from several specialties, including gynecologic surgeons, medical and radiation oncologists, pathologists, navigators and other experts, will work closely together to design a personalized treatment plan specifically for your individual case, which may include one or more of the following:
- Medical Oncology, including Chemotherapy
- Radiation therapy
- Targeted therapies, such as antibodies that target specific molecules within cancer cells
Because we’re part of Catholic Health Initiatives, one of the largest health care providers in the country, you’ll have access to the latest research and innovations through the CHI Institute for Research and Innovation as well as national clinical trials as part of our participation in the National Cancer Institute Community Oncology Research Program (NCORP).
