The Ruth Meyer Epstein (RME) Nursing Scholarship
The RME Nursing Scholarship Fund at Harrison Medical Center Foundation will provide multiple scholarships of varying amounts to aspiring nurses who are committed to improving their lives and their community through a career in nursing. The Fund offers scholarships for individuals accepted/enrolled in an accredited LPN, RN, BSN or Master’s-level nursing program (pre-requisite course work does not qualify). Candidates may include individuals residing on the Olympic and Kitsap Peninsulas with an intent to work in the region.
McCullough ARNP Scholarship Fund
The McCullough ARNP Scholarship Fund was established through charitable gifts directed to the McCullough Community Endowment Fund for ARNP Education for the purpose of providing scholarships to nurses who are committed to improving their life – and their community – through a career in advanced practice nursing. The Fund offers scholarships to students accepted into an accredited BSN-to-DNP, post-master’s to DNP, or PhD nursing program (pre-requisite course work does not qualify). Candidates may include individuals residing on the Olympic and Kitsap Peninsulas with an intent to work in the region.
Kitsap County Medical Society Alliance & Foundation
The Kitsap County Medical Society Alliance & Foundation will be granting two (2) scholarships between $500-$1,000 to students already accepted or enrolled in a nursing program. Applicants must be currently employed at Harrison Medical Center or in a Kitsap County physicians’ office.
Scottish Rite Freemasonry
A grateful Harrison patient is funding a $2,500 scholarship through his affiliation with the Scottish Rite of Freemasonry for a Harrison employee aspiring to become a nurse. His interest is to specifically support one individual for whom this opportunity would be a needed boost on a journey to better their life and that of their family. Successful applicants will: have been accepted/enrolled in an accredited nursing program offering an ADN or BSN degree (pre-requisite coursework does not qualify); demonstrate financial need; show how the obtainment nursing degree will provide for stability in their life/family; and speak to their ongoing commitment to nursing, and their passion for caring for patients. Recipient of the award is requested to attend an awards ceremony banquet in May (date to be determined).
All candidates must
- Be currently employed (at least 0.4 FTE) with a company in a medical or health care related field;
- Maintain continued active employment status throughout their academic pursuit;
- Maintain a minimum course level at or above half-time student status (credit equivalent to be determined by the institution);
- Maintain a minimum cumulative grade point average of 3.0 – continuation of the scholarship funding from one year to the next is dependent upon the student’s ability to do this;
- Demonstrate financial need;
- Show how obtainment of a nursing degree will provide for stability in their life/family;
- Speak to their ongoing commitment to nursing in the region, and their passion for caring for patients.
Harrison Foundation Scholarship Application
The application package should include: a completed application form (downloadable below), a personal letter expressing how the education and potential support will make a difference in your life, a copy of your most recent academic transcript, and two (2) letters of recommendation. Applications are due by April 30 of each year.
