11th Annual Kitsap Family Fun Run and Fitness Fair

This event is a culmination of a 6-week fitness program for children and their families where participants accumulate 26.2 miles (a marathon's worth!) of fitness mileage. The run/walk is professionally timed by Race Directions and each participant receives a finish ribbon. The event put on by the Medical Society is part of our ongoing effort to raise awareness around the important issue of Childhood Obesity. This is also a fitness/nutrition fair where massage, yoga, disc golf, soccer, and fitness/nutrition booths and activities are available and on display. West Seattle 5K
Date: Sunday, May 17, 2015

Participants will enjoy a beautiful, five kilometer course along Alki Avenue SW. The course begins at the Alki Bath House and then proceeds east along Alki Avenue SW. At Anchor Park, runners return to the starting point. This is a USATF-certified course. More information can be found on westseattle5k.com.
Tacoma History Hike

What do you know about Tacoma's history? Explore downtown Tacoma as you collect the answers to historical trivia in a race against time! Proudly sponsored by St. Joseph Medical Center, the annual Tacoma History Hike involves your entire family in learning more about our area in an effort to enjoy exercise and community-building. The hike begins at the Washington State History Museum and leads you to a variety of checkpoints within a 1.5-mile radius, allowing you to walk, run, or bike the course. Each checkpoint provides the answer to a question of Tacoma-related historical trivia. Collect as many as you can in the time allotted, and return to the Museum for music, awards, goody bags, and free admission to the museum. It's a fun way to spend the day with family and friends, rain or shine.
