August 5 - Scavenger Hunt, check-in 4:30 - 5:30 p.m. and return by 6:45 p.m. Walk and take public transit through downtown to find the answers to the clues. Bring a camera and meet at the WA State History Museum Plaza on S. 19th and Pacific Ave.; Social and awards following the event at Anthem Coffee & Tea from 6:45 - 8 p.m.
Maritime Gig Festival

What do you know about Tacoma's history? Explore downtown Tacoma as you collect the answers to historical trivia in a race against time! Proudly sponsored by St. Joseph Medical Center, the annual Tacoma History Hike involves your entire family in learning more about our area in an effort to enjoy exercise and community-building. The hike begins at the Washington State History Museum and leads you to a variety of checkpoints within a 1.5-mile radius, allowing you to walk, run, or bike the course. Each checkpoint provides the answer to a question of Tacoma-related historical trivia. Collect as many as you can in the time allotted, and return to the Museum for music, awards, goody bags, and free admission to the museum. It's a fun way to spend the day with family and friends, rain or shine.

For the third straight year, St. Clare Hospital will serve as the presenting sponsor. Whether as individuals or teams, all CHI Franciscan Health employees, family members and friends are invited to participate. This fun and competitive sprint triathlon takes place in Lakewood and is open to participants 15 years of age and older. The course consists of: * ½ -mile swim starting and ending from the shore at American Lake Park * 14-mile bike course looped through the streets of Lakewood, Steilacoom, JBLM and Pierce County and * 3.1-mile run at Fort Steilacoom Park. The race will start along the shore of American Lake and will end at Fort Steilacoom Park.
