St. Joseph Medical Center General Surgery Residency Program
How to Apply
St. Joseph Medical Center General Surgery Residency Program is a five-year program and is accepting two categorical first-year residents for Summer 2020.
General surgery program applicant requirements
Only applicants participating in the ERAS Electronic Residency Application Service (ERAS) and the National Resident Matching Program (NRMP) will be considered. Applicants must meet one of the following qualifications to be eligible for a position in graduate medical education at St. Joseph Medical Center:
- Graduates of medical school in the United States accredited by ACGME and Canada accredited by the Liaison Committee on Medical Education (LCME).
- Graduates of colleges of osteopathic medicine in the United States accredited by the American Osteopathic Association (AOA).
Eligible applicants will be interviewed and selected based upon the established policies/procedures of individual programs. Residents may be evaluated and considered for possible appointment based on their:
- Academic credentials
- Demonstrated ability
- Overall preparedness
- Communication skills
- Integrity and
- Other written criteria developed by the Program Director which do not violate the St. Joseph Medical Center policy regarding Non-Discrimination.
