The inpatient pharmacy provides 24 hour/seven days per week services and is staffed with 16 pharmacists, 12 technicians, four pharmacy interns, and two pharmacy residents. We provide progressive clinical services including anticoagulation management, antimicrobial stewardship, total parenteral nutritional management, pain management, pharmacokinetic drug consultations, emergency code response and patient education. Pharmacists round daily with the interdisciplinary teams in the critical care units. The Emergency Services department pharmacists play an active role in emergency code participation, drug toxicity consultations, stroke care, sepsis and trauma teams. Pharmacists are also involved with staff education, committee participation, medication utilization evaluation, formulary management, and process improvement projects.
The oncology clinic pharmacy provides five days a week services and is staffed with two pharmacists and one technician. Oncology pharmacists support inpatients and outpatients as chemotherapy experts and are recognized as valuable resources for physicians and nurses. Additionally, the oncology pharmacists assist with antiemetic management and patient education.
