Longtime CHI Franciscan Physicians Make Generous Gift to New Silverdale Hospital
Drs. Ron and Susan Reimer Contribute to the New Hospital’s Healing Garden
Bremerton, Washington - Drs. Ron and Susan Reimer, longtime Kitsap County physicians, continue their commitment to high-quality health care with a generous gift to CHI Franciscan’s Harrison Medical Center Silverdale. Their gift will support the creation of the Reimer Family Healing Garden, which will be situated in front of the new hospital and be accessible to patients, family members, and staff.
“The gift is a reflection of the Reimers’ ongoing commitment to our patients and our community as well as Ron’s long-standing leadership as our board chair,” said David Schultz, CHI Franciscan’s market president, Peninsula region.
With their passion for landscaping and gardening, Ron and Susan are pleased to support a garden that will bring enjoyment for generations. They say they are especially excited that the Healing Garden will utilize many materials found during the excavation of the hospital site. This is part of creating an environmentally friendly campus that takes full advantage of the surrounding area.
“During our careers in medical oncology and pediatrics we developed a deep appreciation for the commitment of Harrison to the health of our many communities. We are proud to play a part in the future of Harrison as it completes a new state-of-the-art acute care hospital, regional cancer center, specialty care center, and family medicine residency program,” said Dr. Ron Reimer.
In addition to their passion and commitment to the Harrison Foundation, the Reimers are also gracious donors to the Holly Ridge Center, whose mission is to enable children and adults with differing abilities to reach their fullest potential, creating a positive and lasting impact on the community.
“Drs. Ron and Susan Reimer have spent their professional careers caring for their patients and supporting Harrison Medical Center. Their work has impacted the lives of so many, including my own,” said Harrison Foundation Board President, Beau Bakken. “Their tremendous gift in support of Harrison Medical Center Silverdale’s expansion further demonstrates the passion, care, and concern that they have for the well-being of others and their community.”
The expansion, scheduled to open in 2020, is a $484 million investment to bring the latest medical technology and a new acute care center to the Peninsula. With doctors, nurses, surgeons and specialists all in one place, it will provide unprecedented coordinated care for patients.
