CHI Franciscan Health and CityMD Open Second Urgent Care Center in Kent
New center will meet region’s growing need for on-demand, convenient and quality service
Kent, Washington - CHI Franciscan Health, a premier health care provider in the Pacific Northwest, and CityMD, the largest urgent care provider in the New York metro area, opened their second urgent care center in the Pacific Northwest today. The newest center, located in Kent, is among several urgent care centers throughout King and Pierce counties that are scheduled to open in 2017.
“We are eager to provide the residents of Kent with access to our first-in-class urgent care services,” said Ketul J. Patel, CHI Franciscan Health CEO. “Thanks to our partnership with CityMD, we have taken a significant step toward our goal to increase access to innovative medical care in the Puget Sound.”
CityMD delivers a unique care model to patients by primarily employing highly trained emergency medicine doctors, setting CityMD apart from most urgent care clinics across the country that are typically operated by advanced registered nurse practitioners or physician assistants.
“CityMD has redefined the urgent care experience across the northeastern United States through our unique care model and the first-class experience we provide to all of our patients,” said Richard Park, MD, CityMD CEO. “We value the opportunity to begin providing the Kent community with convenient access to our exceptional and compassionate health care services, which will allow us to raise the standard of urgent care and create healthier communities across the Pacific Northwest.”
Patients are giving CityMD rave reviews. “The place is spotless and relaxing - lots of natural light in the lobby. Great bedside manner by the doctor that worked with me. Extremely friendly staff. My doctor was very proactive with information about what he was prescribing and why vs. other methods or medicines. I was really happy to discover this place. We needed a walk in clinic in our area,” said a patient post in Yelp about the first CityMD center that opened this past summer in Seattle.
CityMD Aftercare ™ offers an innovative service for its patients in addition to the compassionate, quality care that patients receive during their visit. CityMD Aftercare ™ provides patients with the proper follow-up appointments they may need post-visit. Staffed by physicians, clinicians and referral coordinators, CityMD Aftercare ™ helps patients navigate the complex health care system by giving the patient direction towards the appropriate specialists or follow-up appointments. This ensures that patients' path to better health continues after they leave CityMD.
The new center will be located at the following address:
12924 Southeast Kent-Kangley Road
Kent, WA 98030
Monday-Friday 8 a.m. - 8 p.m.
Saturday 8 a.m. - 5 p.m.
Sunday 8 a.m. - 3 p.m.
CHI Franciscan and CityMD will announce additional center locations in the coming months.

The company's philosophy to provide a convenient, cost-effective alternative to the ER, and to serve every patient with respect and genuine kindness has taken CityMD from its first Manhattan practice to 55 (and counting) locations in the greater New York metro area and Seattle, Washington.
