CHI Franciscan Health and Urgent Care Provider CityMD Announce First Locations in Seattle and Kent
Seattle, Washington - CHI Franciscan Health, a prominent health care provider in the Pacific Northwest, and CityMD, the largest urgent care provider in the New York metro area are joining forces to open the first urgent care of its kind in Seattle and Kent. The urgent care centers will be the first of several sites in Pierce and King counties that are scheduled to open by early 2017.
"We are thrilled to announce this partnership. We will open our first sites in the Ravenna neighborhood in Seattle and in Kent in the coming months," said Ketul J. Patel, CHI Franciscan Health CEO. "We are eager to begin providing residents of Seattle and Kent access to CHI Franciscan's first-class care and patient-centered services. Thanks to our innovative partnership with CityMD, our primary goal to increase access to high-quality health care for the entire Pacific Northwest region will soon become a reality."
The state-of-the-art Ravenna center will deliver high-quality health care to Seattle residents, meeting the growing need for on-demand, convenient and quality service. The urgent care will provide quality access to health care outside the emergency room. Located at 6322 Roosevelt Way NE, the site will have eight exam rooms, and the Kent location will be at 12916 SE Kent-Kangley Road and offer more than 10 exam rooms. Ravenna will open in August 2016 and Kent will open in October 2016.
"This direction and partnership is a significant step to bringing us closer to providing residents across the Pacific Northwest with access to the high-quality, convenient care they want and deserve," said Richard Park, MD, CityMD CEO. "CityMD has redefined the urgent care experience in the Northeastern United States. Our expansion to the Pacific Northwest will allow us to offer our best-in-class care centers to a region in great need of our services."
Each urgent care center will be staffed primarily by board certified emergency medicine doctors, which is different from most urgent care clinics which are staffed by advanced nurse practitioners or physician assistants. The urgent care will provide people of all ages with quality access to health care.
For the first time in the Pacific Northwest, CityMD will offer its revolutionary Aftercare service to patients. Aftercare is CityMD's unique care coordination service, which provides patients with vital follow up on results and services after their visit, while also notifying the patient's primary care doctor that the patient was seen at CityMD to ensure care connectivity.
In the upcoming weeks, CHI Franciscan and CityMD will announce additional locations for urgent care centers in King and Pierce counties.
Founded in 2010, CityMD urgent care is dedicated to setting an unprecedented standard of medical care for patients and an enriching work environment for its employees. The company's "People First" philosophy and state-of-the-art personalized healthcare delivery system has taken CityMD from a single Upper East Side practice in Manhattan to 50 (and counting) practice locations in Manhattan, Long Island, Rockland/Westchester Counties, Queens, Brooklyn, Bronx, Staten Island and New Jersey.
