Laurie Brown, RN
Chief Experience Officer
Laurie Brown, RN, was named chief experience officer of CHI Franciscan Health in March 2017. Prior to this role, Brown served as chief nursing officer of CHI Franciscan since July 2008.
Brown has an accomplished and prestigious 30-year career with CHI Franciscan, holding multiple progressive nursing leadership and administrative roles. During her tenure, she has held positions which include charge nurse, nurse manager, regional director of care management, and interim president of St. Anthony Hospital in Gig Harbor.
As chief experience officer, Brown provides strategic direction and executive oversight of leading patient, provider, and staff experiences within the organization.
Brown earned a bachelor’s degree in nursing from the Washington State University Intercollegiate Center of Nursing and a master’s degree in nursing from the University of Washington-Tacoma School of Nursing. Since 2005, she has served as clinical faculty for the school’s Nursing and Healthcare Leadership program and is a frequent guest lecturer.
Brown is a member of the Northwest Organization of Nurse Executives; the American Organization of Nurse Executives; the American Case Management Association; The Honor Society of Nursing, Sigma Theta Tau International; and the Phi Beta Kappa academic honor society.
She is also a fellow of the Health Care Advisory Board.
