Senior Vice President, Operations and Service Lines
David Schultz is Senior Vice President, Operations, and Service Lines. He has executive leadership of Harrison and St. Joseph Medical Centers as well as oversight of all CHI Franciscan’s strategic service lines including, cardiovascular, neurosciences, oncology, orthopedics and women’s and children’s services.
Prior to serving as SVP of Operations, David was Market President for CHI Franciscan’s Peninsula Region, which includes Harrison Medical Center – Bremerton, Harrison Medical Center – Silverdale, and St. Anthony Hospital in Gig Harbor, WA.
David brings a wealth of clinical and administrative experience in both the inpatient and outpatient care settings. He joined CHI Franciscan in December 2014 as President of Harrison Medical Center, with strategic and operational oversight of Harrison’s campuses in Bremerton and Silverdale, WA. In August 2015, his role was expanded to Market President for the Peninsula Region to include both Harrison Medical Center campuses, as well as St. Anthony Hospital in Gig Harbor, WA. He also has system-wide service line responsibility for oncology, orthopedic/spine and laboratory services across CHI Franciscan.
Prior to joining CHI Franciscan, he served as Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer of Overlake Medical Center, a 349-bed hospital in Bellevue, WA. He joined Overlake in 2007, and while there, helped guide the installation of the Epic electronic health record, which Harrison and CHI Franciscan have also adopted. During his tenure at Overlake, he also led numerous facility improvement projects, expanded the growth of the Overlake Medical Clinic physician network, and provided oversight for the quality program, which received national awards from The Joint Commission for hospital oversight.
His prior experience includes serving as Administrator/Chief Operations Officer for Northwest Medical Center in Tucson, Arizona; Vice President at East Texas Medical Center, a Level I Trauma facility; Chief Administrative Officer at Children’s Medical Center, Tulsa, Oklahoma; and, Chief Operating Officer at Doctor’s Hospital, also in Tulsa.
David has a master’s degree in health care administration from Trinity University in San Antonio, Texas, and is an American College of Healthcare Executives Fellow.
