St. Joseph Medical Center Receives Consumer Choice Award for 14th Year
St. Joseph Medical Center, a part of the Franciscan Health System, is a co-winner of the 2013 Consumer Choice Award based on a survey of Tacoma-area residents by the National Research Corp.
The prestigious annual award goes only to hospitals that independent consumer research indicates have the best overall quality, image and reputation, and the best doctors and nurses, in their markets. This is the 14th year that St. Joseph Medical Center has earned the Consumer Choice Award.
“This award is recognition that at St. Joseph and Franciscan our patients are our top priority, “said Syd Bersante, president of St. Joseph Medical Center. “This achievement belongs to our dedicated and compassionate physicians, nurses and staff who make St. Joseph Medical Center the South Sound’s first choice for health care.”
The National Research Corp., sponsor of the award, and Modern Healthcare magazine, a national trade publication, announced the award winners in all U.S. markets today.
To determine award winners in more than 300 markets across the nation, Lincoln, Neb.-based National Research Corp. asked consumers in 250,000 households to identify the hospitals they perceive as having the best doctors, best nurses, the best image and reputation, and those which provide quality care.
