Highline Foundation

Our mission

To someone undergoing a life-saving cardiac procedure, a man seeking the least invasive and most successful procedure to manage prostate cancer, or an unemployed single mother with a seriously ill child – for these and thousands of others who come to Highline for care, your support for the Foundation makes an impact like no other.

Highline Medical Center Foundation was established in 1981 as a 501 (C) (3) nonprofit organization. Through philanthropy we support Highline Medical Center’s mission to provide excellent, compassionate, safe and accessible health care to the communities we serve.

Although Highline affiliated with Franciscan Health System in 2013, the Highline Medical Center Foundation remains independent and focuses on supporting Highline Medical Center programs, services, community outreach, medical equipment, and capital expenses. Since 1997, the Highline Medical Center Foundation has provided more than $17 million in support to the medical center, including raising $3 million for our Cancer Center and $5.8 million for a new Emergency Department. In addition, we recently completed our campaign to bring a state-of-the art cardiac cath lab to Highline Medical Center with the ability to provide critical, time sensitive care close to home.

Community support through Highline Medical Center Foundation’s Annual Gala and Golf Tournament events provide a key source of funding for important Highline Medical Center needs, including fundraising for 3D Tomography equipment, and raising funds for the Special Needs program at Highline, which includes medical care for vulnerable populations, funding for prescriptions for low income patients, and financial assistance to patients.

The Foundation is currently raising funds for Highline Health Connections: Care Navigation for Vulnerable Populations. This program will provide comprehensive care to targeted patients within our community, and provide an extra level of care for the most vulnerable of our patients.

In addition, we provide financial counseling, gas and food cards for low income cancer patients, and specialized wheelchairs for in-patient intensive care. We also support our employees through staff educational scholarships and an Employee Assistance Fund.
