Nutrition and Weight Management Services
Bariatric surgery is just one part of your weight loss treatment plan. Good nutrition is key to your long-term success in losing weight. Our registered dietitians offer nutrition counseling services both before and after your surgery to help you build lifelong healthy eating habits.
Our registered dietitians are committed to helping you achieve your weight loss goals. We offer one-on-one sessions with our registered dietitians to:
- Help you create a healthy eating plan
- Monitor your progress and overall health
- Provide coaching and support both before and after your surgery
We work with you to assess your individual needs and preferences and develop a customized plan to meet them. Our experienced dietitians provide counseling that covers a variety of topics, including:
- Healthful choices while grocery shopping or dining out
- Postsurgical challenges, such as reduced portion sizes or food intolerances and how to manage them
- Specialized nutrition needs for those who have other health conditions, such as diabetes, Crohn’s disease and high blood pressure
Nutritional supplements after weight loss surgery
Bariatric surgery affects the way your body absorbs essential vitamins and minerals. Because one supplement does not fit all, our registered dietitians work with you to choose the nutritional supplements that meet your needs.
You can buy vitamins, minerals and other nutritional supplements from many sources. Our patients receive a 10 percent discount on supplements ordered through Bariatric Advantage. These are not the only nutritional supplements we offer or recommend. For more information, please speak with your surgeon or your dietitian.
