Pierce County Hunger Walk
For 36 years, Associated Ministries has held a walk and run to join in the fight against hunger in Pierce County. Walkers and runners raise funds that go to support local food banks, while volunteers help coordinate the event.
Date/Time: Sunday, October 2, 2016; Time varies with volunteer activity – anywhere from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m.
Location: Ft. Steilacoom Park – 9601 Steilacoom Blvd, Lakewood
How volunteers will be used:
- Booth organizer
- Kids Zone
- Set-up crew
- Tear-down crew
- Volunteer Check-in
- Water Stations
- Route Marshal

The Passion Project
This Tom Taylor Family YMCA program focuses on the belief that every student is capable of achieving great things, things that they feel passionate about and that matters. Finding a student’s passion in life triggers focus, stability, and a sense of self-worth that can sustain the student’s personal and professional development well into the future.

Communities In Schools of Peninsula (CISP) is recruiting seven volunteer math mentors to support sixth grade students at Key Peninsula Middle School. All mentors receive training prior to working with students and ongoing assistance as well.
Date/Time: Tuesdays from 3 - 4:30 p.m. during the regular school year
