Pierce County Hunger Walk
For 36 years, Associated Ministries has held a walk and run to join in the fight against hunger in Pierce County. Walkers and runners raise funds that go to support local food banks, while volunteers help coordinate the event.
Date/Time: Sunday, October 2, 2016; Time varies with volunteer activity – anywhere from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m.
Location: Ft. Steilacoom Park – 9601 Steilacoom Blvd, Lakewood
How volunteers will be used:
- Booth organizer
- Kids Zone
- Set-up crew
- Tear-down crew
- Volunteer Check-in
- Water Stations
- Route Marshal

Help Feed Our Neighbors in Need
FISH Food Banks serve up to 50,000 community members each month and this is only possible because of amazing volunteers.
Locations: Edgewood, Graham, South Hill, Lakewood, Tacoma, Key Peninsula
How volunteers will be used: Distributing nutritious food, data entry, restocking shelves, helping load groceries and returning shopping carts.
To volunteer: To sign up for a volunteer shift, please call the Administrative Office at 253-383-3164 or call the food bank in your area directly. We ask that first-time volunteers arrive at least 15 minutes before the start of the shift to fill out the volunteer application and receive a brief orientation and all volunteers are required to wear closed-toe
shoes and modest clothing. More information.
