Join Kathy Bressler, Komen board chairwoman, at this annual luncheon to battle breast cancer, together! Susan G. Komen Puget Sound has generously awarded a total of $823,062 to CHI Franciscan Health over the last 10 years for a Breast Cancer Navigation Program to reach medically underserved women in our community with breast health education and information, assistance in accessing mammograms and supporting and assisting women during breast cancer treatment. Navigators serve Korean, Vietnamese, Cambodian, Thai, Pacific Islander, Spanish-speaking, African American and LGBTQ women in our local communities.
The Komen dollars have allowed CHI Franciscan to reach over 30,000 women with breast education, assist over 2,200 women in securing mammograms, and provide practical support to over 150 women during breast cancer treatment including transportation, help with insurance enrollment and scheduling of appointments, advocacy and support during surgeries, cancer treatment visits with doctors and survivorship and end-of-life services. This program helps CHI Franciscan to demonstrate our mission in action everyday. Your attendance and monetary support at this lunch provides the resources for programs such as ours and allows us to continue to serve the women in our community most likely to lack access to screening and cancer care and most likely to lose their lives to breast cancer. Thank you. Please join us.
