We also network with specialized laboratories to provide testing not available on site. Our staff is available 24 hours every day to perform routine and emergency testing.

A different kind of vending machine

The St. Elizabeth lab is home to a high-tech vending machine stocked with something very valuable: blood. The innovative HemoSafe "smart refrigerator" allows staff to obtain blood or plasma for a patient quickly, with a built-in double check that they are taking the right quantiy and type of blood product to the right patient. The HemoSafe reduces transport time and increases patient safety.

St. Elizabeth is working in conjunction with the Puget Sound Blood Center to bring you this latest technology, the safe handling and distribution of blood. We are the third facility in King County to receive the HemoSafe.
