Weight Loss Surgery Was a Lifesaving Decision

Ann Strong When Ann Strong decided that weight loss surgery was the best way to lose weight, she had no idea that her decision would save her life. At 312 pounds, she was tired of being tired. The more she weighed, the harder it was to walk up stairs or have fun with her grandchildren.

Then Ann attended a seminar about weight loss surgery led by Ki Oh, MD and offered through the [Franciscan] Weight Loss Surgery Clinic. After consulting with Dr. Oh, she signed up for gastric bypass surgery.

Shocking test results!
Pre-op testing began and Ann was shocked when tests revealed she had kidney cancer. Thankfully, the tumor was removed successfully and, a year later, she was able to have the bypass surgery. Now she’s svelte, healthy and enjoying an active life, chasing after the grandkids, making beautiful quilts and enjoying travel with her husband, Glenn.

“If I hadn’t gone for the pre-op testing, I don’t know if the cancer would have been discovered in time,” Ann says. “I tell everyone Dr. Oh saved my life by finding the cancer and that he brought me back to life with the weight loss surgery.”
