Seven year-old Orion Haury of Olympia, Washington noticed all the pink around during October and learned it was for Breast Cancer Awareness Month. He brought his mother, Jennifer, his piggy bank and wanted to donate his savings to help prevent his classmates from getting cancer.

St. Clare Hospital has been undergoing a $15.5 million renovation with the most recent addition a new Garden Café and Healing Garden that is now open to the public. The new café has added more than 4,000 square feet of new space to the dining room, which can now accommodate 200 customers.

St. Clare Hospital constructed a ramp at the Sound Transit bus stop on Bridgeport Way to make it easier for the public to get medical care. The ramp was built with the cooperation of Sound Transit and the City of Lakewood. Cornerstone Constructors were the contractors for the project.

Eleven students from Lakes High School in Lakewood will have their photography work showcased in a new exhibit at St. Clare Hospital. The students are part of teacher Scott Waeschle’s beginning photography class. Students submitted photos which were then submitted to St. Clare staff to choose the final photos for the exhibit.
