What is hospice care?
Hospice care is medical care and support services to provide comfort for people with a terminal illness. The experienced hospice team at CHI Franciscan Health offers a complete range of services from nursing care to physical therapy to home medical equipment.
Our goals are to control pain and other symptoms and to support quality of life. Learn more about our residential hospice services and the inpatient care we provide at Franciscan Hospice House.
When is it time for hospice?
Many patients start thinking about hospice in the last six months of an illness. But if you or a loved one has been diagnosed with a potentially life-threatening illness, it’s not too early to consider your options and learn about what signs and symptoms may signal it’s time to think about hospice. When medical treatment to cure a serious illness is no longer beneficial, hospice care offers the best possible comfort and support during the next stages.
We coordinate your care with you, your family and your care team, supporting your choices while you remain independent. The sooner you call on CHI Franciscan, the sooner we can help you prepare for important decisions and life changes.
