Community Patient Navigators

If you or a loved one are facing the challenges of cancer, it’s comforting to have support from people who understand what you’re going through. At CHI Franciscan Cancer Care, our community patient navigators have the expertise and compassion to guide you through your cancer treatment, providing help with all the details.

Community patient navigators for cancer

Our skilled breast cancer navigators serve women in our local communities who are at high risk for breast cancer and may not have access to screenings and care. We partner with the Korean Women’s Association, and other organizations, with funding provided by Susan G. Komen for the Cure, to bring our award-winning program to the Puget Sound area.

Our community navigators help with practical and emotional support such as:

  • Accompanying you to appointments as needed
  • Advocating for you during medical appointments, diagnostic procedures and treatment
  • Arranging assistance with transportation
  • Finding physicians
  • Helping you find resources that support you and your family
  • Scheduling screening mammograms
  • Supporting women with breast cancer through the treatment journey

They can work with all other navigators to ensure that you receive the best possible medical care, needed resources and support and friendship that can make a real difference during and after a cancer diagnosis.

CHI Franciscan’s program focuses on helping low-income, primarily non-English-speaking women in getting mammograms and appropriate breast cancer care if diagnosed with breast cancer.
