Outreach and service to medically underserved patients
All Franciscan Community Cancer Program cancer screenings provide assistance to those without medical insurance, and to medically underserved populations. They include free prostate, breast and skin cancer screening events.
The breast cancer navigation program serves high-risk, medically underserved women including: Spanish-speaking women, Korean women, Vietnamese women, Cambodian women, African American women, sexual minority women, Russian-speaking women and those living in poverty.
Franciscan is a supporter of Gloria’s Angels Foundation, an organization that lifts burdens and builds communities so people can care for a loved one with a life-threatening condition. The program assesses a family’s needs, then seeks solutions for all of them. The organization partners with other service agencies and organizes the community of relatives, neighbors, friends, church members and co-workers to fill all of the gaps. This free service is designed to "help the helpers" so they can serve the family without becoming overwhelmed by the situation.
